Application Form Question Types
Choose the right field type.
Each question has a field type that controls how applicants answer and how the response is validated. Fifteen types are available, and the picker has a search box:
Text and long text
- Text — a short single-line answer.
- Textarea — a longer written answer.
- Formatted Input — text captured to a set pattern.
Numbers and dates
- Number — a plain numeric value.
- Currency — a monetary amount.
- Date — a calendar date.
Contact details
- Email — an email address, validated on entry.
- Phone Number — a telephone number.
- Website URL — a web address.
Choices
- Checkbox — a tick box.
- Toggle Switch — an on or off control.
- Radio Buttons — one choice from visible options.
- Dropdown (Single Select) — one choice from a list.
- Multi Select — several choices from a list.
Files
- File Upload — a document, deck, or other attachment.
Please note: Only Radio Buttons and Dropdown (Single Select) questions can drive conditional logic on later questions, so choose one of those for any branching question.
Name, Email Address, and Industries are static fields present on every form and are not chosen from this list.
