Assigning and Changing Roles

Control what a member can do.

  1. Open Home and select the Members tab.
  2. Find the member in the table.
  3. Open the row actions menu and choose Edit Member.
  4. In the dialog, update the Roles field. Roles is a multi-select, so a member can hold more than one.
  5. Select Save.

The roles offered are Founder, Portal Manager, Advisor, Investor, Portal Owner, and Super Admin. Roles is a multi-select, so a member can hold more than one.

Please note: Some portals show roles in the Members table that are not in this list, such as Provider. Those are set elsewhere — contact the Startup Science support team if you need one assigned.

Please note: Roles are per portal, so a person can hold a different role in another portal without conflict. Changing a role changes which modules that member sees.
