Setting Terms & Conditions

Publish the terms members must accept.

A portal can publish its own Terms & Conditions. Where you have the necessary access, the Portal Terms & Conditions section appears on the Manage Portal page, below the branding fields.

As the section explains, these terms are shown to applicants on every public application form for the portal, and to portal members the first time they enter it. Leave it blank if you do not require portal-specific terms.

  1. Select your avatar and choose Manage Portal.
  2. Select the portal you want to configure.
  3. Scroll to Portal Terms & Conditions.
  4. Write your terms in the editor.
  5. Select Save Terms.

The section shows a Last updated timestamp so you can see when the terms last changed.

Please note: This is separate from the platform-wide Terms of Service that every user accepts at signup.

Please note: Terms & Conditions are permission-gated. If the section does not appear on your Manage Portal page, contact your Portal Owner or your Startup Science account contact.
