Understanding Portal Roles
Who can do what in your portal.
Roles are assigned per portal and control both permissions and which modules a member sees.
- Founder — builds a startup profile and participates in programs.
- Portal Manager — day-to-day management of programs, applications, members, and activities.
- Advisor or Mentor — supports founders through the Advisory hub.
- Investor — reviews startup profiles.
- Provider and Team Member — additional roles used by some portals.
- Portal Owner — full control including portal-level settings only owners can change.
Founder, Portal Manager, Advisor, and Investor are the roles you assign directly from Edit Member on the Members tab.
Please note: Because roles drive the sidebar, changing someone's role changes what they can see.
